Three Months Old!

Calum turned 3 months old on December 10th. He is quite the growing boy. It amazes me how much babies grow and change in the first year.
Calum is in size 2 diapers and wears 6 month clothes. He has become quite the chatter box and interacts really well with his toys. Although he found his thumb, like I posted previously, he hasn’t found it again. Yea! He still sucks his fists though and has even gagged himself a few times with his fingers. He is a mess!
He has been doing well at daycare, but Mommy still doesn’t like to send him. I leave work as soon as possible in the afternoons to pick him up.
Here is a picture, comparing his size from one, to two, to three months of age.

Here are some other 3 month pictures. I love his many faces!

Baby Pictures from Two to Three Months

My sweet baby boy!

Calum is quite the wiggle worm! He is staring at something on the wall. He had to rearrange to get the best view and most comfortable position. Lol!

This picture was taken on the floor of my shower. We had a poop issue that required extensive clean-up. He was quite proud of himself!

I love the faces he makes!

Damon dressed him in this, just to see if it would fit. It wasn't actually cold that day. He looked really cute. He enjoyed gumming the zipper.

Love him!

Sweet smile!

Calum is really working hard on his neck muscles. He is growing so fast and I know it is just going to go faster!

He plays hard!

My Hair!

After going back and forth about whether or not to cut my hair, I finally decided to do it. I had to do it spur of the moment or I would have just changed my mind again. I must say, I love it! True, I can’t just throw it into a ponytail when I don’t feel like dealing with it, but it is actually easier and much quicker to fix. All that long hair took forever to dry!

Daycare- It’s like a four letter word!

Calum’s first day of daycare was November 27th. He went partial days on the 27th, 28th, and 29th. We had a three-day-weekend together then Monday, December 3rd, was full time daycare and work for both of us.
Damon and I took his diapers, wipes, etc. to daycare on the 26th, so I wouldn’t have to take it all the next morning. I cried just doing that. Daycare was a dread in the back of my mind for weeks. The morning of the 27th I was a mess. I tried so hard to not cry, but it was an impossible feat. I cried when leaving him and then I pulled it together, but right before I got to work, I caught a glimpse of his empty carseat in the rearview mirror and I lost it again. I just want to spend every moment possible with my little man!
I have grown to like and trust his two main daycare teachers, and they will send me pictures and keep me updated, but I would still rather be with him. Of course!
Here is a pic from his first day at daycare. I wish his teacher would have known better what his personality is, because this picture just made me sad and want to leave work to go pick him up. He looks so bored.

Day two provided a much better picture!

Here is one more that I was sent another day. He was sleeping and his teacher commented about his hand sticking out of his swaddle. Calum works very hard to get his hands out so he can suck on them.

I cherish our evenings and weekends together! I am so glad I chose a career where I can spend extended breaks with him. I can’t wait until Christmas break!

Thanksgiving

Calum had a lot of company for Thanksgiving. His Mama and Daddy forgot to take pictures though! How horrible!
Calum spent the Friday after Thanksgiving with Damon and me (of course), his Nana, Great-Grandmama, Great-PawPaw, Great Aunt Terry, Great Uncle Derrell, and my cousins, Holly and Kara. His Uncle Jeremy had to stay in New York for Thanksgiving.
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Calum spent the day with us, his MawMaw, Uncle Jason, Aunt Bethanie, and cousin Tanner.
Here is Calum with me and my cousin, Holly.

Kara, Me, and Holly:

Calum got his first cold after Thanksgiving. I did not like it. It is never fun to see your baby not feeling well. I am glad I have Damon, because putting saline in his nose and suctioning it out every morning and night is tough. Calum would cry and just sounded so pitiful. Damon got stuck doing it most of the time as I was there to offer snuggles and kisses to make it all better. Lol! I am happy to say it only lasted about a week.

Two Month Well Baby Checkup

Calum had his two month check-up today (11/13/12). I was very anxious about this appointment because I knew he would have to have immunizations.
Calum weighed 13lbs3oz and measured 24inches long. His pediatrician said that put him around the 75th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height. This time he did not get upset when measured.
Calum actually did very well for his shots too. He got three, but the immunizations totaled eight. Several are combined so he doesn’t have to get so many shots. I’m glad because three was enough. Calum only screamed for about 15 seconds, then he just whimpered a little and was smiling by the time we got his clothes on and were leaving. He did very well! I got teary-eyed. Damon told me I should have waited in the car. I couldn’t have done that! I needed to be there for my baby. Actually Calum ended up comforting my feelings more than I comforted his, I am sure. He was such a big boy and I was an emotional wreck!
Calum slept off and on for the rest of the day. We didn’t have to give him any Tylenol. I wanted to avoid giving him medicine if at all possible. He never got a fever from the shots and he didn’t get fussy either.
I hope when he goes back in January, for his 4 month immunizations, that visit goes just as well!

Ready to go!

And here he is, my naked boy, “flying” with Daddy, while he waits for the doctor.

I Spoke Too Soon!

Yesterday I wrote in the two month post that Calum loves sucking on his fists, and that I was hoping he would outgrow that before he found his thumb or fingers to suck on. I was afraid that habit would be hard to break, as I can’t very well get rid of his fingers like I could a pacifier.
Well, today I found Calum asleep in his swing… sucking his thumb!!! Uh oh!
