He has a Name!!!

Finally we have a name for our little guy! This was a VERY hard decision for us. When we were practically positive we were having a girl, we were ready with a name, but when we found out we were being blessed with a boy, we weren't prepared.

Damon wanted to name him Henry Chance. At first, after our ultrasound, I was on such a baby high that I thought it was great and agreed to it. Oops! After a few hours to think it over, and after my excitement level came back down, I realized that just wasn't the name for my little man. I should have known. I am not the most decisive person. I slept on the name Henry for about a week, and I liked it, but I never fell in love with it.

My whole life I have picked out baby names. I find it ironic that I always had trouble with picking girl names I loved, and no problem with boy names, but then when I got pregnant it switched and it became much harder to pick a boy name.

After looking through tons of baby name lists, I developed my own list of about thirty names. It took Damon all of about one minute to decimate my list!!! We were down to six. After sitting with those names for a few more days, we narrowed our six again.

We were down to Henry Nohl and call him "Nohl", or Caellum Chance and call him "Caellum" (pronounced K-lum). Damon didn't like Nohl. I was a little sad- that has been my boy baby name for quite a while (It is also where he got "Henry" when he came up with Henry Chance). But- I didn't like his first choice of Henry, so I couldn't argue with his dislike of Nohl. Really, I think we have ended up with the perfect name.

We decided on "Calum Chance McGough". Calum is pronounced the same as Caellum, but I like the simpler spelling. Calum means "dove" or "peacefulness". It is a Celtic name.

So, here I am, 23 weeks along, with my baby boy, Calum!

More of the New House

The house is coming along- a little at a time. I feel like we are at a bit of a standstill right now, but we have had some rainy days. Hopefully things will pick up soon. Here are some pictures. I am sorry if y'all get tired of seeing pictures of my house (sometimes it is a lot of the same). I just like to document, so we can look back at this fun time in our lives.

The front. It finally looks like our house- minus the colors. Hopefully the brick and siding will be up by the end of this week. Maybe even sheet-rock... maybe. I would take either as long as something changes!!!

The living space. We have an open floor plan. This is the foyer and great room area. I am standing in the kitchen taking the picture.

Here is a close up of the wall in the living/great room- my favorite thing in the house. I love my beautiful windows and the built-in bookshelves that will flank the mantle and fireplace.

Here is the master bedroom.

Master bath:

Laundry room: I rearranged the original plans a lot to ensure I would have a large laundry room.

Baby's room! We have another room that pretty much looks just like this one (You know- wood, windows, more wood). It will be a guest room.

Now, some of Damon and me- so you don't forget what we look like!

Damon- on the back porch. It hasn't been poured yet (It is several feet above the backyard- maybe 5ft). I'm taking this picture through the kitchen window- above where the sink will be.

Damon- looking out the kitchen window. I am sitting in the doorway leading out to the backporch (see later picture).

Damon- sitting in the backdoor.

Me- doing the same (23weeks pregnant).

Damon took this picture with my phone.

Babies and Baby Stuff Everywhere!

This post is very overdue. I have not been a good blogger lately.

MORE GIFTS:
A few weeks ago, my friend Erin let me know that she had mailed me some baby coupons. She is great- always making sure I don't have to pay full price for baby items. :-) She said that I should be on the lookout for a package and to let her know when it arrived, because she wanted to make sure it arrived safely. I thought this was odd, seeing as how it was just coupons. Sure enough, my suspicions about her coupon gift were true. I did receive coupons- but I got baby goodies too! I love being pregnant! I get surprises all the time! Here are some pictures of her very cute gifts for Baby Boy McGough.

What a cute sleeper! It says "Wildly Cute!" I can already picture my squirmy baby boy wearing this.

What baby in Alabama doesn't need an elephant lovey? Too cute! I love the lime green stars on the ears too (green is my favorite color).

This is a picture of a cute outfit Erin found just the other day. I love it! Our baby will have a firetruck themed nursery, so this is very appropriate.

BABY SHOWER FOR VICKY AND REBECCA:

At work, I am one of three women who are expecting their first baby. For a school as small as Buhl, that is a large percentage of the faculty/staff. On April 30th, we had a joint baby shower for Vicky and Rebecca. They are both expecting girls. Vicky is expecting Camryn Elizabeth any day now and Rebecca is expecting Alayna Grayce in July. Here are a few pictures from the shower.

Vicky is all smiles!

Here we are- the three pregnant ladies! Vicky, Me, and Rebecca. I am 21 weeks in this picture.
